Life Story for Elizabeth Wallance

Mrs. Elizabeth "Betty" Wallance, age 86 of Frederick, formerly from the Bronx, New York, passed away on Monday, April, 10, 2017. She was the wife of the late Gene Wallance who passed away on November 14, 1995. Born on December 23, 1930 in the Bronx, New York, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Essie Griffiths.

Betty was most proud of her work with the New York Mets at Shea Stadium. In her retirement she enjoyed traveling. Her favorite destinations were Ireland, and England. She was a member at Trinity United Methodist Church, Frederick. She was the first resident of Mill Crossing, Frederick and consequently became known as the "Mayor of Mill Crossing". She was beloved by everyone and loved socializing with friends. Lastly, she was proud of herself when at the age of 69 she got her driver's license for the first time.

Mrs. Wallance was the mother of Robert Wallance and wife Joan of Fairport, NY and Elizabeth Blough and husband Mark of Laurel, MD; the loving grandmother of Jordan Wallance, Johanna Wallance and fiancé Anthony Datillo, Sarah Blough, and Zachary Blough. She is also survived by her sister Maryjane Wheeler of Fairport, Connecticut and many nieces and nephews who she was very close with.

Friends will be received on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 from 5-8 PM at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick and on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 from 10 AM until 12 Noon at the Trinity United Methodist Church, 705 W. Patrick St., Frederick, MD 21701 where services will begin at 12 Noon. Additional visitation times will be planned for Friday, April 14, 2017 from 2-5 & 7-9 PM at the Schuyler Hill Funeral Home, 3535 E Tremont Ave, Bronx, NY 10465 where services will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at 9:30 AM. The interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Kew Gardens, NY.
